How to play ambient worship pads on an Android device

Pads are the #1 way to fill in the sound of your worship band. They are also easy to use since you are playing back simple audio files. For example, you can play them on your smartphone or tablet. Here’s how to get them up and running on an Android device.

Step 1 - Download our free pads at churchfrontpads.com.

Over 600 worship leaders have already downloaded them, and they love how these pads have a beautiful warm tone that fills the sound of their band.

Step 2 - Download the free Dropbox app and sign up for a free Dropbox account.

Dropbox is the easiest way to store and transfer files. We host our free pads on Dropbox, so using the app on your phone will make it super easy to save the files to your device. The app is free, and you can sign up for a free account.

Step 3 - Open the email I’ll send you and click the download link.

A few moments after requesting our free pads, you’ll receive an email containing a link to the Dropbox folder containing the pads. Open the email, click the link, and then click the “add to Dropbox” button in the upper right-hand corner of the browser. You may need to login to your Dropbox account. The pads will automatically be added to your Dropbox account.

Step 4 - Save the MP3 files to your Android device file browser

You will want to save the MP3 pad files to the local storage on your Android device. Open up the pads folder in your Dropbox app. Click the checkmark icon in the upper right to select all the files, then click the three dot icon and select “save to device.” Select where you want to store the files on your android device. I recommend creating a new folder in the “music” folder and label it “Churchfront Pads.”

Step 5 - Download the “Neutron Music Player (Eval) app)

The Neutron music player is a free app that gives you the ability to loop and crossfade your pad audio files. These two features are crucial for playing pads in a worship context. You need the crossfade feature so that you can have smooth and seamless transitions. You need the looping feature, so you never have to worry about running out of pads! The loop feature in the app is the icon on the bottom left of the album artwork window. To enable the crossfade feature, click the gear icon at the top of the app, and then enable the red light next to “Fader.” If you click on the “Fader” settings, you can also adjust the parameters of how long the in and out fades are.

To view your playlist of Churchfront Pads, click the browser icon in the top right of the app and navigate to the folder on your device where you stored the pads. Now you’re ready to use them in worship!
